Oliver Wyman took on a prominent role at Germany’s most prestigious retail event “Deutscher Handelskongress 2014.” The event featured, as it does every year, the views and opinions of Germany’s most senior retail executives and politicians, as well as national and international retail specialists.
On the first day of this two-day event, Oliver Wyman hosted a strategy forum on lifestage changes in retail with an introduction by James Bacos, Global Retail & Consumer Goods Practice Leader at Oliver Wyman, presentations by Richard Pennycook, Chief Executive of The Co-operative Group and Rick Batye, Former VP & General Manager of AmazonFresh, followed by a round table discussion with all attendees.
“Every retailer has its own story to tell. But strip away the details, and the basic narrative often looks the same: a similar story of a progression through different lifestages, perhaps halting along the way. Retailers succeed and fail in fundamentally similar ways, and often at predictable moments” James Bacos, Global Retail & CPG Practice Leader
Throughout the conference, Oliver Wyman introduced the capabilities and solutions provided by Oliver Wyman Labs, showcasing a full range of software and decision support applications for retail. Conference delegates were invited to stop by and experienced how Oliver Wyman Labs makes decision making in retail organisations “better, faster and simpler.”
