James Gordon is a principal in Oliver Wyman’s Digital, Technology, and Analytics practice, and a senior member of the Data Science and Analytics group in North America. He is focused on delivering impact through the application of advanced analytics and the deployment of innovative, sustainable technology solutions in financial services. James sits at the intersection of our strategy consulting and technical development capabilities, and enjoys bringing creative solutions from the data science community to help our clients make better decisions.
James was born and raised in the UK, but joined Oliver Wyman’s Sydney office having met an Aussie, now his wife, at university. After working with financial services start-ups and incumbents across Asia Pacific, James transferred to our Boston office and now covers clients in the Americas and Europe.
James is a keen sailor and has been known to disappear for weeks at a time with only a sextant to steer him home. He holds a PhD in Astrophysics from the University of Cambridge, and a MPhys (First Class) in Physics and Astronomy from Durham University.
